Passengers of the hantavirus-stricken MV Hondius cruise ship are returning to Britain – so what’s next for them, and how will UK officials ensure the virus doesn’t spread?
The passengers will be taken to Arrowe Park hospital in the Wirral, where they will remain for 72 hours under strict infection control measures. If they remain virus-free, they will then self-isolate at home for 45 days.
In 2020, the same hospital housed British nationals returning from China at the start of the COVID pandemic – but health officials say the public risk from hantavirus is comparatively much lower.

Why is isolation not within a hospital facility ?
The US will have a major outbreak and be quarantined from the best of the world. Result!
Authorities that can't contain a disease isolated on a ship have absolutely no right to lock down society
Any disease that could wipe out half the population of the world should be compulsory Quarantine is a secure facility

What idiots! The ship should have remained at sea not docked and all remain until it ran itself out. Only 150 passengers/ crew. As its rife in Argentina why weren't extra tests not carried out before leaving Argentina? FFS water / food & medication could have been dropped by helicopter! What a farce!🦧💩
