Russia, China and Iran: What do Beijing and Moscow want to gain from conflict? β€’ FRANCE 24 English

Iran and the United States reached an impasse again Monday over how to end their war while their ceasefire grew increasingly shaky. As the situation in the Middle East keeps the world on edge, many regional observers say Iran’s resilience is thanks in part to the lifeline extended by two key allies: Russia and China. Both countries, at least publicly, say they seek de-escalation. But Western observers say they are providing crucial support to Teheran to help keep it in the fight. FRANCE 24’s International Affairs Commentator Douglas Herbert tells us more.

  1. China could end the Trump War in a week, but it’s making him look so bad. They’ll shut it down before it hurts their exports. China does not want a global recession.

  2. What's wrong with Russia, China or whichever ally giving info or tech to Iran? Don't you do the same for your allies? It's now a bit deals if Russia or China does it?

  3. Israel is not a larger military power than Iran….. I would wager Israel doesn't last weeks against Iran if the US leaves.

Even if it continues sending weapons.

  4. West can support Israel, but others can't support Iran.
West can support Ukraine, but others can't support Russia.

    The double standards are astonishing

  5. The US closing the strait sure angers China. China is not simply buying Iran’s oil. It’s also an oil-for-projects / oil-for-investment arrangement.
With the investments and projects running or completed, China wants China’s oil. πŸ€”πŸ€”

  6. what war has the us won since japan "unconditional surrendered" Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan. Iraq and now Iran are fighting with their lives for their country.

  7. They are blockaded? China may be buying stuff thats alrdy out they aren't buying any more. The US Navy controls the gulf of Oman. Now some stuff can go by the Caspian route, but I mean look at the western supply line in Ukr, look at the amount of networks and just pure scale is needed to transport all the war material. The Ru and Chinese are just unable to do that at that lvl. Whatever help they are giving to Tehran is pocket change. But it is happening and should be noticed by all western countries.
