Trump’s deadline warning: “Iran can be taken out in one night – it may be tomorrow night” | BBC News

President Trump has stepped up his threat to destroy Iran’s power stations, bridges and infrastructure ahead of his latest deadline. Trump has said that if Iran if doesn’t reopen the strait of Hormuz, “The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night.”

The US leader claimed that all of Iran’s bridges and power plants could be destroyed in just four hours, repeating his threat to return Iran to “the Stone Ages”. He also said that he was still hoping for a deal with Iran which he claimed was actively involved in negotiations to reach an agreement.

Trump was also asked about widespread criticism of his recent expletive-filled Truth Social post – in which he called Iranians “crazy bastards” and demanded they “open the f***** strait”. Several US politicians and commentators have suggested that the President is “crazy” and “unhinged”. Trump said he had not heard the criticism.

In Israel, at least eight people have been injured after Iranian strikes in several locations around Tel Aviv.

  17. We have a sick POTUS in the Oval Office and need to be removed asap. The USA and Israel are responsible for many deaths, suffering, and the 130 children who died innocently. It's a damn war crime, and they need to be accountable for their actions.

    Iran will be prepared.
    Not to protect the targets. They want to take down US planes.

  33. The last aircraft that was shot down just shot down all of Trump's plans with it. If he tries to do this in 4 hours, he will lose a lot more jets and airmen.

  35. It seems to me that the IRGC are incharge now in Iran. It seems plausible that the Iranian government would do a deal but they seem unlikely to get the consent of the IRGC.

  38. Why report on his BS? We don't report the ayatollah's every breathless threat. We even ignore most of Russia's bullshit pronouncements, and I can't recall the last time that we heard the nonsensical BS that comes out of Putin (who is actively helping Iran kill Americans).
