Can inflation be used as a tool to weaken the middle classes, by those spending trillions? Sure. It's almost irrelevant WHAT gets more expensive. It's everything.
GAME OVER!
Yup I built my own pc last year and it did cost me more than a console but I can upgrade it as and when I want for much less than a console and I can buy games for far less than than a console game.
I bought a simple gaming 24TB drive last year for $1100, it is now $1700, 9 months later. The sooner this AI bubble bursts and frees all the hardware, the sooner. I built a pre-invasion (Canada) gaming PC last spring for around $5500, still had to get a AMD GPU, not one of those 5090's. That was before the prices went up for ram and everything else.
Who cares
Yes and A.I is to blame bloody memory prices has gone through the roof because of it hopefully the A.I bubble will burst soon and get back to normal 🙏🙏
The big issue for me is the removal of physical media.
We’re being charged full price for digital games that we don’t actually own, and Sony etc can just remove our purchases
See how much these cost abroad ? Aye. Peanuts.
we'll just download the torrents
It doesn't matter really. I've been playing the same 4 games for about 12 years now.
Same as Hollywood basically. Doesn't matter how expensive it is to go watch a movie. None of them are worth watching anyway.
AI will be creating all games in the future. Hardware pricing is still controlled mostly by supply and demand- but AI will be consuming massive amounts of memory like ram and storage however. Gaming in the future really won’t be changing that much- inflation yes, but calling gaming a luxury hobby is false. Only my 2cents.
