In this week’s dispatch from the sanctuary of sweet reason, your co-pilots of sanity Liam Halligan and Allison Pearson, address the rise of antisemitic attacks in Britain, including the chilling firebombing of Jewish charity ambulances in North London.

Alison shares her continuing case against Essex’s police and crime commissioner, as well as the county’s police force over a post on X, which has since been deleted, which led officers to investigate her for a potential offence of ‘inciting racial hatred’.

Liam is dismayed at the cognitive dissonance in government promising an ‘AI revolution’ while the national grid remains unfit for purpose, warning that the government’s green activists are threatening the very data centers needed for the technological future they claim to champion.

  13. 40 or 50 years ago I was waiting for a train so I ducked into the nearby students union to keep warm.
    I had no time for a TV but there was a colour set there tuned to BBC News.
    Unfortunately it was more entertainment than content. But importantly, I did stay warm.

  15. Sorry, but I struggle with the utter hypocrisy of the left, so no, I can not relate. As someone who deeply cares for animal rights, to see the left having happily abandoned animals to Halal slaughter, no questions asked, quite frankly leaves me shocked by the psychopathy of an ideology, which ones prided itself on empathy. The same goes for antisemitisms amongst the left. A vile people the left has become. Severe shame on them.

  26. For diversity to be a strength, diversity of thought is required. The last thing the DEI clan promote is diversity of thought. They may look different but think the same.

  27. Senior doctors used to think smoking was good. Also castigated one man who suggested surgeons wash their hands after performing autopsies prior to attending pregnant mothers!

  34. I know of three waiting list patients who have been taken off the list without being told. They only found out when they rang up after getting fed up waiting. One of the patients was told that her consultant had left and she had been lost in the system so will have to start at the beginning again and wait five months for an initial consultation and then go on the waiting list again (at the bottom of course). Disgraceful!
