Alarm at children as young as four using anti-ageing skin treatments
Children as young as four are using anti-ageing skincare products designed for adults, prompting dermatologists to call for warning labels and tougher scrutiny of how the products are marketed to young people.
The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) has said stronger labelling is needed on products that contain ingredients unsuitable for children’s skin, warning they can cause irritation, allergic reactions and damage to the skin barrier.
Experts say they are increasingly seeing children using powerful ingredients intended for mature skin after watching skincare content on social media.
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said: “At this point, we haven’t seen evidence of inappropriate advertising of skincare products to children, but it’s an area we’re continuing to explore.
“In terms of our rules, advertisers have a responsibility to ensure that their ads are socially responsible. Ads mustn’t exploit children’s inexperience or vulnerability or include anything that could cause them physical, mental or moral harm.
“Ultimately, the protection of children sits at the heart of our work and if we do see evidence of potentially harmful ads then we won’t hesitate to take action.”

This is why I never use these social media apps, of course I only use YouTube to watch technology & some news. People might call me a boring 21 year old, but I do not care, I cannot stand people who use TikTok,instagram, X etc
So they want to look like an embryo?
This is entirely the parent's fault. Those products are not cheap. All the tech costs money. Who should supervise them, if not parents? 🤬
