Andy Burnham is the ‘TikTok PM’ we can see right through | The Daily T

In this episode of The Daily T, Tim Stanley and Poppy Coburn dissect the early days of Andy Burnham’s premiership. From his nervous media appearances and regional presentation style to his controversial split-week at “Number 10 North” in Manchester, they ask whether “Burnhamism” represents genuine reform or simply continuity Keir Starmer in a new outfit.

In the second half of the show, Tim and Poppy look at the impending crackdown on youth sickness benefits as the PM seeks out the billions he intends to spend on social care and defence.

They evaluate the proposed Dutch-inspired scheme to encourage “Neets” into work, and examine whether government policy or a broader culture of “arrested development” is truly to blame.

  13. Burnham keeps making unfunded policy announcements, but for some reason the bond markets haven’t reacted in the same way as they did when Liz Truss did it!!

  17. Already, I find it problematic to believe anything this PM says and his NVC was clear on what he thinks about Pres. Trump and avoiding the big issues affecting the UK, or Great Britain, but not just "Britain"..

  25. Burnham comes across like someone who blagged his way into getting a top class job. He tries his hardest to avoid the difficult questions as time goes along his quickly found out that his way over his head and unqualified for the role
