CCTV police believe shows man carrying suitcase ‘containing dead Scottish woman’s body’ in Athens
New CCTV footage appears to show a man wheeling a suitcase down a street in Athens, Greece, near where the body of a Scottish woman was later found.
The footage, released by Greek media and confirmed to ITV News by police, shows a man with a large suitcase and a backpack.
It was taken near where the body of Elisabeth-Jane Ross, 38, was discovered inside a suitcase on July 18.
Sharif Ahmadzai, a 26-year-old Afghan refugee who has been living lawfully in Greece for a decade, was charged with murder in connection with the case. He has admitted to transporting her body, but has denied murder.
He will appear in court on Wednesday morning.
