UEFA warns FIFA World Cup boycott still stands – despite Infantino apology

UEFA has told Sky News the “conditions have not been met” to lift its boycott of the World Cup and there is still a lack of confidence in Gianni Infantino – despite the FIFA president apologising and withdrawing the World Cup sell-off plan.

European football’s governing body has dismissed the credibility of the joint statement issued by FIFA after emergency talks in Morocco yesterday, self-declaring “full support” of members of the management board.

  1. CORRUPT LYING SELFISH Infantino MUST GO ! Or else BOYCOTT !!!….UEFA shd start their own WC with countries that are willing to stand up and BOYCOTT FIFA …. People would watch.

  2. FIFA has to be broken up and replaced by a new world football organisation which better represents the stakeholders in the game – fans, players, clubs and not only countries and regions. UEFA could also do with such an ovehaul.

  3. The fact that despite all that has happened, Infantino still has the backing of the FIFA top executives proved that FIFA is too corrupted to be fixed. It is time for UEFA, AFC, and CONCACAF to split from FIFA and convinced others to form a new non-profit organization altogether. FIFA cannot be saved.

  4. A pathetic little apology that the world of football had to wait a week for and tRumps sidepiece thinks this is going to go away?

    Well done UEFA πŸ‘

  5. Infantino is a former lawyer and bureaucrat, he has NOTHING to offer football other than lining his own pockets via grift. All he will do now is court the poorest, most desperate federations around the world. UEFA need to stay out for as long as Infantino is in charge, and until FIFA accepts major reforms. It’s a comically corrupt organisation

  6. I used to respect this guy when he made films like Pulp Fiction & Django Unchained. I never understood why he gave up Hollywood for FIFA, but now I know: he was driven by money and corruption. I suppose once the football world turns against him, he’ll go back to directing films.
