Farage wins by-election but Reform’s troubles are far from over | The Daily T

In today’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Tim Stanley react to Nigel Farage’s victory in the Clacton by-election, where the Reform UK leader increased his majority while skipping the count, prompting a fresh row with Essex Police over security threats and alleged political stunts.

Joined by The Telegraph’s Political Editor, Tony Diver, they unpack the fallout from a bizarre election night in which novelty candidate Count Binface finished second.

They discuss whether Farage’s comprehensive win changes anything or merely tees up yet another by-election, as the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner restarts its investigation into his controversial £5m crypto donation.

Plus, with rumours of a snap election swirling, is now the best time for Andy Burnham to call the country to the polls, or would it offer no benefit to the Prime Minister?

  1. They fell for him again? And he’s wasted thousands of pounds in this ridiculous election 🗳️ just to try and escape scrutiny 🧐 over his iffy behaviour.

  2. Nigel did the right thing not attending the result, the establishment’s Bin face and the others aside from Fox were a complete joke

  3. The government need to get a grip on our economy rather then wasting our money and resources on personal attacks on Farage , government bonds at 5,2% US companies buying our companies due to the weak pound , making it even weaker, terrible economic outlook and the news is taking about bin face , no wonder people want a change from the conservatives and Labour parties

  4. Its not complicated: The Police advised Farage that some disruption may be afoot, so he chose not to attend. The police now state that he was not advised to stay away. Both can be perfectly true. Simply listen to exactly what has been said and read what has been written.
