Why didn’t Nigel Farage show up to the Clacton by-election count?
Nigel Farage has been elected as Clacton MP, triggering the automatic resumption of a standards inquiry into a £5m donation to the Reform UK leader.
He won 62% of the vote, and a 36% majority, after having triggered the by-election in protest at media and parliamentary scrutiny of donations from his backers.
He did not attend the by-election count in the town, claiming Essex Police had told him about an “organised campaign to disrupt and degrade the result”.
However, ITV News understands Essex Police did not tell Mr Farage, or any other candidate, not to attend the count.

Oh no! The joke candidate won in Clacton
That should tell all you need to know.
Farage = real votes
Binjuice = smearcampaign
Rejoin eu = local nuthouse
His massive mouth could house a Cadillac 😂
Why should he???
ha ha, Count Buttface beats Count Binface, what a stinker
Shows what a farce this whole voting thing is. Democracy?
If this is winning, I'd hate to see what losing looks like.
