Emmerdale’s explosive wedding week got off to a dramatic start tonight (24 August) as Dawn Fletcher set her sights on Graham Foster. The latest episode saw Graham promise Joe Tate that nothing would go wrong on his big day, as the groom looked dapper in his wedding attire as he anticipated saying “I do”.
Meanwhile, Dawn began to fret that Kim Tate’s unexpected return meant that her secret escape plan would now be impossible. As she became tearful, she reassured Kim that she was just upset because she wasn’t keen on the wedding flowers. Her ex, Billy Fletcher, managed to calm her down, though – all while hiding his guilt for lying to her.

Unbeknownst to Dawn, Graham was carefully questioning her son Lucas, and when he accidentally let slip about Dawn and Billy’s plan to escape, Graham headed to Home Farm to intervene.
“This is what cowards do,” Graham said after approaching Dawn as she packed up the car.
“Cowards? He tried to kill Billy, he left him for dead, do you think I want that man in my future?” Dawn replied as Graham contested her version of events.
“Did Billy actually see him do it? He was hit from behind, what I’m trying to work out is how he could have possibly seen Joe,” Graham argued before he warned her: “I won’t let you leave with Joe’s child.”
But Dawn, who is pregnant, refused to believe him, and when Graham realised he’d failed to talk her out of leaving, he snatched her car keys and walked away.
In a moment of desperation, Dawn quickly picked up a shovel and knocked Graham out. As she raced to pick Billy up, she reassured him there had been “no drama” before the episode cut to Graham, who was still alive but tied up in the barn.

Meanwhile, Joe was in the Woolie boasting about his upcoming wedding and honeymoon as he clashed with Caleb Miligan and disinvited him from his big day.
What he doesn’t know is that Caleb has played a big part in helping Billy run away with Dawn, as he was seen giving Billy a wad of cash to help them escape.
As the two squared up to one another in the pub, Caleb couldn’t resist teasing what was to come as he told Joe: “This is what I’ve waited so long for, because there are some scores that will always need settling.”

Rubbing salt in the wound, and leaving Joe looking very concerned, he then added: “What I’ve done is blow your entire world apart.”
The dramatic episode comes after actress Olivia Bromley, who plays Dawn, confirmed there would be “fire and explosions” this week.
“There may be some stunts that involve fire and explosions and heat, so little, little spoiler there. It was very, very hot. It’s been dramatic,” she said during an appearance on This Morning.
