Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. She’s won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, Olympic gold medals, and has been a cultural and style inspiration for decades. And, with a $400 million net worth, Williams is the richest female athlete in history. But did you know that she also has a top-notch real estate collection?
The mother of two, who has been married to investor and tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian since 2017, has properties in Florida, California, Paris, and New York in her large portfolio, which has a total valuation in the many millions.
Below, find her real-estate portfolio, from the homes she shares with her sister, Venus, to her beachside escapes.

In 2005, Williams and her sister, Venus, purchased an apartment in Midtown Manhattan. Located at 28 West 38th Street, the 1,800-square-foot loft was their first publicly known real estate purchase. By the time the sisters made the buy, Serena had already won the local slam, the U.S. Open, twice, as had Venus. They later sold the one-bedroom prewar property in 2015 for $2.1 million to the former New Jersey secretary of state, Nina Mitchell Wells, and her NFL lawyer husband, Ted Wells.

Williams’s first California real estate purchase was 1201 Stone Canyon Road in Bel Air. The tennis ace purchased the six-bedroom home in 2006 for $6.62 million and listed it in October 2017 for $11.995 million. It eventually sold in 2019 for $8.1 million to interior designer Rodrigo Vargas. Spanning 2.76 acres, the house was built in 1935 and features a pool and a blooming pergola.

Serena Williams won the French Open three times—in 2002, 2013, and 2015—but her love of French culture began years before. As a child, when she was training with her father, Williams reportedly set a goal of becoming fluent in the language by the time she gave her first French Open victory speech. In 2007, she purchased a two-bedroom pied-à-terre in the city—better for French Open training. She chose the historic 7th arrondissement, home of the Eiffel Tower and the Musée d’Orsay. In 2016, she gave a tour of the space on Snapchat, displaying its black-and-white design and historic touches.

In 2015, Williams began dating tech investor and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. He proposed in December 2016, and their eldest daughter, Olympia, was born in September of the following year. In 2017, they also bought a five-bedroom newly built mansion in Beverly Hills, California. The young family paid $6.68 million for the three-story Spanish-style property, which is in a gated community. They moved on, though, only a few years later, selling it for $7.1 million in 2021.

Like many other athletes (including Tiger Woods and Steffi Graf), Williams has made Jupiter, Florida, her home base in recent years. Florida has been a popular training spot for tennis players for decades, both because of the availability of court space and because of the warm, humid environments that mimic the most difficult conditions of all four slams. Williams, who trained in Florida during her youth, made her first purchase in the area in 2013, buying a vacant lot in the gated community Bear’s Club for a reported $4.12 million. She never developed the property, though, and eventually sold it to Patrón founder Edward Brown in 2017, for $6.5 million.

In 2015, Williams added to her Florida portfolio with a Georgian-style mansion in Steeplechase, a gated community within Palm Beach Gardens. The house’s five bedrooms feature marble details and each room has its own terrace. Records show she sold it in 2021, a notably hot time in Florida real estate, but it was never actually listed and the buyer remains unknown.

September 2017 was a major month for Williams. Not only did she welcome her daughter, Olympia, but she also purchased a $5.7 million riverfront estate in Jupiter, Florida. The home was built in 2013, and though it was fairly modern when she purchased it, Williams enlisted her sister, Venus, who owns her own interior design firm, V Sarr, to oversee an overhaul. During its transformation, the Spanish-style red roof was removed, and modern touches, like glass terraces, an infinity pool, and, reportedly, a trophy room were added.

Also in Jupiter is one of Williams’s most impressive properties, an estate on River Pointe Way. Williams reportedly purchased the 10,433-square-foot, eight-bedroom house from Puerto Rican baseball manager Yadier Molina for $8 million in 2020. By far her biggest home, the property features waterfront views, a baseball diamond, and, yes, a tennis court.
