Timothée Chalamet did not join girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the Met Gala tonight, in what would have been their debut as a couple at the event. Instead, the actor did what he loves most: sit courtside to watch his NBA team, the New York Knicks.
Photos show the Marty Supreme star looking locked in as his team went up against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden for game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
And just about 50 city blocks away, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was Jenner, walking the red carpet solo—and looking better than ever—for fashion’s biggest night.
Jenner looked striking in a sculptural Schiaparelli gown with a molded bodice that celebrated the naked female body. (Her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian coordinated in their own skintight nipple-bra looks.)
Chalamet, meanwhile, went a bit more casual for the evening, slipping on a striped blue-and-black shirt, loose light-wash jeans, and sky-blue sneakers.

The Khy founder usually accompanies her beau to the basketball games—including to a game last week—but tonight, fashion won.

Fellow Knicks superfan Ben Stiller—who regularly sits next to Chalamet for the MSG games—did not make it to the stadium today, but he did represent the team while at the Met Gala. His look of choice? A navy-blue suit and a bright orange tie. In his red-carpet interview, the actor even brought up his team, acknowledging that he was cheering the players on from afar.
Stiller’s wife, Christine Taylor—ever a team player—coordinated with him in a strapless dress in a vibrant Knicks blue. Now that’s love.

Kymothée, we’re still waiting on your Met Gala debut.
