The Gist

AI-driven coaching. AI agents analyze CX data to automate coaching steps.

Customizable frameworks. Performance plans tailored by team, role or methodology.

Supervisor empowerment. Supervisors gain evidence-based tools to improve frontline performance.

Observe.AI on Sept. 8 launched Performance Agents for CX, a set of AI-driven tools designed to automate coaching and performance measurement across contact center operations. Built on the company’s Agentic platform, the agents analyze customer conversations, identify coaching opportunities, assemble evidence and prepare personalized plans, while supervisors retain approval authority over every plan shared with frontline teams.

According to company officials, Performance Agents aim to close a persistent gap in contact center performance management: organizations can evaluate interactions at scale, but converting that data into effective coaching remains time-consuming. The company claimed the agents can reduce supervisor preparation time to under five minutes in applicable workflows.

The release also introduces AI-powered leaderboards that surface which agents need coaching and why, an Agentic AI Coach Builder for creating tailored coaches by team or role, and coaching effectiveness reporting that tracks whether targeted behaviors improved over time.

“Performance Agents turn the intelligence within customer conversations into clear, timely actions for supervisors and frontline teams,” said Swapnil Jain, co-Founder and CEO at Observe.AI. “These AI agents apply a consistent standard for coaching, personalize development to each individual, and measure whether that coaching improves performance.”

Observe.AI’s Path to Agentic Customer Experience

Observe.AI has spent the past year repositioning from a conversational intelligence vendor into a full-stack agentic customer experience platform. The pivot crystallized on May 6, when the company unveiled its Agentic CX platform organized around three agent categories — customer-facing, frontline and operations — followed a week later by the launch of Companion Agent, a real-time assistant handling pre-call context, in-call guidance and post-call summarization.

Enterprise credibility is anchored by a DoorDash deployment across 19,000 agents that achieved nearly 100% automated quality coverage. Days after that July 14 announcement, Observe.AI formalized a multi-year collaboration with AWS, placing its platform on AWS infrastructure and in AWS Marketplace — a distribution lever that accelerates enterprise sales by allowing procurement against existing cloud commitments.

Gartner also named Observe.AI a Cool Vendor in its 2025 Customer Service and Support Technology report, citing the company’s AI-first approach and integrations across more than 250 enterprise systems.

AI Agents Redefine CX Coaching & QA

AI agents are turning contact center coaching, quality assurance and oversight from periodic manual tasks into continuous, automated processes.

As CMSWire reporting on agentic AI in CX noted, AI agents can now monitor all interactions and deliver feedback that feels supportive rather than punitive, giving human agents the coaching volume supervisors cannot provide at scale.

Governed AI architectures constrain large language models (LLMs) with business logic and human-in-the-loop oversight, ensuring deterministic outcomes in regulated environments. Clear escalation paths to human agents remain essential, as analysis of hybrid team models found.
