AI platform expansion. 8×8 extends AI features to all business teams.

Integrated capabilities. New tools cover routing, communication and workforce management.

Business efficiency impact. Enterprise IT leaders gain organization-wide automation without added complexity or vendors.

8×8, Inc. on July 30 announced platform updates extending AI-powered intelligence, routing and automation to teams across the organization — not just the contact center. The Campbell, Calif.-based company released capabilities spanning conversation intelligence, AI agent development, expert routing, frontline communications and workforce management.

According to 8×8, the updates require no new infrastructure, additional vendors or professional services engagements. The releases target enterprise IT and CX leaders looking to consolidate AI tooling on a single platform.

“We’re not asking organizations to adopt a new platform or a new vendor,” Hunter Middleton, chief product officer at 8×8, Inc., said in a statement. “8×8 Pulse captures intelligence from conversations already happening. 8×8 AI Studio builds on phone systems already in place. 8×8 AI Routing connects customers to experts already inside the organization. This is AI that meets businesses where they are, and makes everything they already do smarter.”

Recent 8×8 Developments

8×8 has executed a notable turnaround, posting FY2026 total revenue of $735.8 million — up 3% year-over-year — and achieving its first full-year GAAP profitability since 2015. AI momentum is a key driver: by Q3 FY26, voice AI interactions grew 212% year-over-year and messaging API interactions surged 269%, while usage-based AI and CPaaS revenue grew nearly 60% to represent roughly 21% of service revenue.

The January 2026 acquisition of Singapore-based Maven Lab added APAC-native messaging scale, fraud prevention and compliance capabilities. 8×8 Engage went globally available for frontline teams in March, AI Studio launched in April with native agentic AI, and May’s platform update added OpenAI’s GPT Realtime 2, real-time analytics and CRM integration improvements.

8×8 also broadened its addressable market, launching 8×8 Resolve for deskless workers in June and 8×8 Small Business, a consumption-based UC offering for companies with fewer than 100 users, in July.

AI-Unified CX Platforms: Capabilities & ROI

Vendors are merging contact center, UCaaS and CPaaS into single AI-powered platforms spanning the full customer interaction lifecycle.

Native Platform Extension

The broader platform convergence trend preserves customer context across phone, chat, SMS and video channels, accelerating resolution and reducing handoff friction.

Governed AI Agent Deployment

Governed AI agents constrain large language models through business logic with human-in-the-loop oversight. Paris-based startup GetVocal scaled one client from 1 to 80 AI agents in under 12 weeks, reporting 31% fewer escalations, a 45% increase in self-service and a 70% deflection rate.

Conversational Intelligence & Gains

Conversation intelligence platforms integrate real-time transcription, AI-driven summaries and automated logging into enterprise systems. Conversational AI in the enterprise is projected to grow 192% from $17.05 billion in 2025 to $49.8 billion by 2031.

Measured outcomes from recent deployments include:

View AllHybrid Workforce Oversight

AI-native platforms increasingly offer workforce management tools coordinating human and AI agent fleets. Kustomer’s AI-native platform organizes around unified customer profiles rather than tickets, giving AI full conversation context.

Organizations prioritizing AI for self-service are up to twice as likely to improve containment rates.
